Google’s social network offering Google + is letting brands have their own pages in its attempt to rival Facebook.
The company says this will help them interact and engage more with their audience, with features such as the ‘Circles’ facility enabling them to target more effectively. The Muppets and Burberry are some of the first set of brands to take part.
Google says it won’t pass on any personal data or IP addresses but that advertisers will benefit from the ‘+’ symbol onto results listed on the company’s results. This will allow companies to see where people are clicking from and how many are reaching their Google+ Page.

Siri is the iPhone 4S’ ‘personal assistant’ and is, according to a Forbes interview with Gary Morgenthaler (a partner at venture capital company Morgenthaler Ventures), ‘the culmination of the legacy of Steve Jobs’.
It allows owners of the latest Apple offering to make voice commands – sometimes offering answers and even being able to book a reservation at a restaurant. This is a breakthrough moment, Gary contends, allowing users to speak to a computer and be understood.
Whilst not new in its invention, by being integrated into the iPhone, Apple have understood the user experience and made it natural, leaving us thinking: How did we ever do this without it?

Yesterday, Ipsos Mori presented their latest research about the business elite of Europe.
It was an insightful presentation highlighting the importance of this audience, their influence and how best to target them.
Whilst only representing a small proportion of Europe's population they yield huge amounts of power.
Largely being members of the c-suite, they look after 1.4 billion employees and with salaries that remain high and look to be increasing they are important to many brands.
There were four key points to take away when it comes to this audience:
- Managing economic uncertainty and volatile markets is a key concern for the business elite. It's been a slow couple of quarters this year so far, and they are more cautious than they have been previously.
- They are a vital customer group for a number of industries: travel, technology, finance.
- They are increasingly consuming digital media (ipads, smartphones), but not at the expense of traditional media. They still value magazines and newspapers and see these as an integral resource.
- This is not a homogenous group of people, and this is important to consider when targeting the business elite. The liberal individualist (environmentally aware, well travelled, predominantly female) is not the same as the classic leader (predominantly male, most likely to be CEO, large numbers of which own yachts and second homes).

Since the beginning of 2011, twitter users have increased by 82% to over 100 million, they announced this week.
The social media site was also keen to dispel any myths surrounding their early business model. It publicly stated its business case and explained that it wasn't keen to sell its shares on Wall Street, like similar companies.
CEO, Dick Costolo, highlighted that its primary revenue stream was always going to be from advertising. An important move, to emphasise this, is that 'promoted tweets' (paid for messages by advertisers) will now be sent to all its users rather than only those who have expressed interest with the brands.

Just International has raised more than £1,100 for our official charity partner King’s College Hospital Children’s Critical Care Centre. We entered two teams into the Marketing Industry relay triathlon on Friday 1 July at Dorney Lake, Eton. Each team of three covered the three-quarter length sprint relay and sprint relay, finishing respectably in a mid-table position in each. Starting with a swim in the same lake the Olympic rowing will be held in 2012, the swim leg handed over to the cycle leg then finished with a run. The entrance fee and the race itself also raised money for The Prostate Cancer Charity.
Stuart Giddings MD, Just International, said: “It was hard work but we had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed competing. The majority of our guys were doing their first ever triathlon so it was a great effort for both teams to finish mid table. More importantly we beat our fundraising target so a good amount of money will go towards supporting the amazing work of the medical staff that help very poorly children every day at King’s. On behalf of everyone at Just, King’s and the kids that benefit from their expert care, I’d like to thank everyone who supported us. We really appreciate it”.
The team results are as follows:
DNA 3 quarter relay:
800m swim – Rosie Frazer – 00:16:50
30k cycle – Stuart Giddings – 00:58:54
7.5k run – Jon Hook – 00:41.23

Just International is very happy to officially announce our charity partnership with the Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre at King’s College Hospital.
We aim to raise money to help the centre continue to provide the very highest standard of care for ill and injured children. The Centre contains both the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and the High Dependency Unit and helps treat patients like Spencer.
His experience shows the difference doctors and nurses at King’s make to children’s lives every day:
In March 2004 Spencer was involved in a serious car accident. He was just 14 and his recovery took three years. On admission to King’s College Hospital things didn’t look good. But after five days of highly specialised care in the paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Spencer was transferred to the High Dependency Unit where his therapy began.
Looking back, Spencer says: “I cannot tell you how much respect these people deserve! I was still unconscious when they began my rehab program. I was at a critical stage in my recovery.” For six weeks during his recovery, no sound came from Spencer’s mouth, which he describes as his “time of silence”. He was given a laptop to help him communicate.
“King’s gave me the basis that I needed to go on to further rehab and to maximise my potential recovery. I was treated as an individual, not just as another statistic. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the friends at the Hospital that helped me to this point in my life.”
Our fundraising will go towards buying specialist medical equipment to help give people, like Spencer, the care they deserve.
Mark Hazlewood, communications manager at the hospital states:
"Thank you to the team at Just International for choosing King’s College Hospital Charity as your official charity partner. Your dedicated support for our Children’s Critical Care Centre will be hugely appreciated by the families whose desperately ill children are treated by the team on the unit.
We look forward to developing a strong and fruitful relationship with you."
